Afloat #3

Not sure if being afloat in a barge on the Falkirk wheel in Scotland is my idea of fun- you have to admire the engineering though.

Hello! I’m Anne and it’s a pleasure to have you look in on my little food blog. As a Thermomix user for more than 10 years and an advisor I can tell you the tips, tricks and greatness of this kitchen wonder. Most of the recipes have Thermomix instructions but please dive in - a sponge is a sponge, and pastry can be made traditionally (but why would you?) I am a keen amateur photographer too, so if you’d like to see what I’m up to please visit my other Instagram page @vannilla

  1. Amazing! I was watching Timothy West and Prunella Scales going through this on a canal boat on TV only last night. It certainly looked an awesome experience. They said it was so well balanced that despite the huge weight of bridge and water being moved it only needed the same amount of power as boiling six kettles.

  2. Recognise this! We’ve done the trip twice – once with visitors, otherwise we wouldn’t have repeated it. But the engineering is amazing, there are nice walks roundabout and it’s near the kelpies so can be the centre of a good day out.
